About the Role
We’re hiring a Plant Manager to take full ownership of day-to-day operations at a privately owned equipment manufacturing company. This role is open due to a retirement and is a rare opportunity to step into a well-established business with a solid customer base, in-house capabilities, and experienced team.
This is a hands-on, floor-based leadership role. You’ll be the one making sure things get done—from purchasing to production to delivery. You’ll work closely with fabrication, planning, and service teams to keep jobs on schedule, cash flow in check, and operations running smoothly. The company is looking for a builder—someone who can strengthen processes, create accountability, and develop the next generation of leaders.
If you’re mechanically inclined, business-savvy, and enjoy working shoulder-to-shoulder with your team, this is the kind of role where you can truly make your mark.
Responsibilities- Oversee all areas of daily operations: production, fabrication, purchasing, inventory, and service coordination
- Lead procurement and vendor relationships to ensure smooth supply chain and material availability
- Work closely with engineering and service teams to hit delivery targets and ensure quality standards
- Improve systems for planning, tracking, and reporting to drive accountability and reduce bottlenecks
- Manage internal HR efforts: update and enforce policies, support hiring, and drive team performance
- Read, interpret, and act on financial reports including income statements, cash flow, and EBITDA
- Collaborate with ownership on budgeting, incentive plans, and long-term financial strategy
- Build a culture of consistency, collaboration, and ownership among the team
- Be a visible leader—on the floor, solving problems, and leading by example
- 10+ years of operations or manufacturing leadership experience in equipment or metal fabrication
- Bachelor's degree required (business, engineering, or operations-related)
- Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort working around CNC equipment (lathes, mills, welders)
- Proven ability to lead production and purchasing teams and drive results
- Hands-on experience with budgeting, financial reporting, and managing to EBITDA targets
- Comfortable interpreting income statements, managing cash flow, and making financially sound decisions
- Experience implementing and managing HR policies and operational systems
- Someone who’s confident in their decisions, hands-on in their leadership style, and ready to take charge
