Maintenance Electrician

Overview

Estates Management is seeking to recruit suitably qualified and experienced electricians to support the University estate in Wolverhampton to join the effective and efficient Maintenance Teams.

• Undertake electrical work under the direction of the Technical Supervisor, including fault finding, repairs and alterations to the University’s building services.
• Demonstrate cross-trade flexibility as required, with appropriate training or validated prior training.
• Participate in an on-call rota and be prepared to use own transport for call-out purposes.
• Travel across the University estate and within the West Midlands as required.

• Registered apprenticeship or equivalent training in the electrical installation trade.
• Experience ideally in an industrial/commercial environment.
• NVQ Level 3 or approved equivalent in Electrical Installation, City and Guilds 2360 Electrical Installation Theory Part 2, or approved equivalent.
• Completed recognised course on BS7671:18th edition of the I.E.T. Regulations up to and including all current amendments.
• Computer literacy desirable for operation of Building Management Systems.
• First aid certificate desirable (training available if not).
• Post-apprenticeship/training experience with evidence of appropriate competency.
• Holding an Inspection and Testing qualification is desirable.
