The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join our growing team as a Business Development Assistant, supporting both new business development and existing sales accounts. The role is split between generating new opportunities and supporting account management activities, depending on business needs.
You will play a key role in driving business growth by following up on existing leads, re-engaging lapsed enquiries, and supporting customer relationships.
Some national travel and occasional overseas travel may be required, including attendance at exhibitions.
Key Responsibilities
Build and maintain strong relationships with current customers
Re-engage previous leads, historic opportunities, and lapsed enquiries
Convert marketing and exhibition-generated leads in collaboration with the team
Attend exhibitions and visit customer sites
Act as a key contact for selected customer accounts
Conduct outbound outreach via phone and email
Maintain accurate CRM records
Support administrative processes including quotations
Assist with marketing follow-up activities
Skills & Experience Required
Proven experience in B2B manufacturing service sales
Experience supporting account managers or external sales teams
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Strong communication and organisational skills
Full UK driving licence
Desirable:
Ability to read technical drawings
Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication
