Role Summary
We have an exciting part time vacancy within our stroke specialist CNS/ANP team for a Band 6 Nurse Practitioner post. Our specialist team covers a 24/7 stroke specialist service including pre‑alert video triage, front door assessment, triage and treatment of all suspected stroke and TIA patients including thrombolysis and referrals for thrombectomy. We also receive stroke referrals from across the hospital site.
Key Responsibilities- Cover all shift patterns including long days, nights, weekends and Bank Holidays.
- Deliver autonomous advanced‑level practice encompassing education, research, management and direct compassionate care provision or clinical work with patients, families, caseloads and populations.
- Participate in pre‑alert video triage, front‑door assessment, triage and treatment of all suspected stroke and TIA patients including thrombolysis and referrals for thrombectomy.
- Work in a fast‑paced environment, prioritising care for over 1,200 stroke patients and 2,000 TIA patients per year.
- Previous experience working in stroke care, preferably caring for patients post‑thrombolysis.
- Health assessment qualification or willingness to complete one within the next 12–18 months.
