We have an exciting part time vacancy within our stroke specialist CNS/ANP team for a Band 6 Nurse Practitioner post. Our specialist team covers a 24/7 stroke specialist service including pre alert video triage, front door assessment, triage and treatment of all suspected stroke and TIA patients including thrombolysis and referrals for thrombectomy. We also receive stroke referrals from across the hospital site.
You will be expected to cover all shift patterns including long days, nights, weekends and Bank Holidays.
We are a large stroke centre and see over 1,200 stroke patients per year and over 2,000 TIA patients so being able to work in a fast paced environment and an ability to prioritise is a must. It is expected that applicants will have previous experience working with in stroke care preferably with experience of caring for patients post thrombolysis. It is also expected that applicants will have a health assessment qualification or be willing to complete in next 12-18 months.
Mainduties of the job
To deliver autonomous advanced level practice encompasses aspects of education, research and management but is firmly grounded in direct compassionate care provision or clinical work with patients, families, caseloads and populations.
Nurses working at an advanced level will promote public health and well-being using 'making every contact count' as an approach to change behaviour through interactions with individuals, carers and families to support them in making positive changes to their physical and mental health and wellbeing.
