Role Overview
Moog Aircraft Group is looking for an apprentice‑trained, experienced CNC Machinist (Turner/Mill‑Turn) for an 18‑month fixed‑term contract to join the team at our facility based in Wolverhampton.
Responsibilities- Set up and operate multiple CNC machines/processes.
- Perform first‑off inspections and complete necessary quality documentation.
- Carry out own 1st‑off inspection and check/complete the necessary quality documentation.
- Follow a day shift pattern, with potential future double‑day shift pattern and overtime as requested.
- Proven experience in a machine shop environment.
- Competent in setting up and using machine tools.
- Confident in using precision measurement equipment.
- Recognised engineering apprenticeship.
- Previous experience in an engineering/manufacturing role, ideally in the aerospace industry.
- Strong knowledge of machining techniques and appropriate tooling.
- Proven skills in a multi‑axis/complex machining environment.
- Attention to detail, accuracy, and process improvement techniques.
- Proficiency in using relevant inspection techniques/equipment to achieve drawing tolerances.
- Over 5 years of experience on different mill/turn CNC machines (Okuma, Mazak, Lathe, DMG, Matsura, Puma).
Candidates must be self‑certified and hold a quality stamp after the qualifying period. A baseline personnel security standard (BPSS) clearance is required and must be maintained for this role. If clearance cannot be obtained, you may not be eligible for the role, and/or any offer of employment may be withdrawn on grounds of national security.
