Job DescriptionKing & Moffatt Building Services are seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to join the business in a stand-alone HR role, based in Wolverhampton. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced HR Manager to have responsibility for the operational management of the Human Resources function at King & Moffatt. This role will be responsible for managing all aspects of Human Resources across the business, providing hands-on, practical HR support within a Mechanical and Electrical contract business.
The successful candidate will be confident managing employee relations matters, advising managers, and making difficult, well-judged people decisions.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all HR matters across the business
- Provide expert advice and guidance on HR policies, procedures, and employment legislation
- Manage employee relations cases end-to-end, including grievances, disciplinaries, absence, and performance management
- Handle complex and sensitive HR issues, making balanced and confident decisions
- Respond to general HR queries from managers and employees in a timely and professional manner
- Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies and procedures
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and employee assimilation processes
- Manage the local Apprentice and Graduate Programmes, including enhancing relationships with third-level colleges and attending careers fairs
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation
- Promote best practice people management within a project-based workforce
- Ensure compliance with employment legislation, company policies, and EHSQ requirements
- Minimum of 12 months’ experience in a Human Resources Manager or equivalent HR manager position
- Significant experience working within a Human Resources generalist role
- Proven experience managing grievances, disciplinaries, and complex HR cases
- Strong working knowledge of employment legislation
- Ability to work independently in a stand-alone HR role
- Confident decision-maker with strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience with in the construction or engineering sector
- Experience supporting site-based or project-driven environments
- Experience advising senior management on people matters
Given the project-based nature of the work carried out by K&M, you will be expected to work on varying sites and/or travel to varying sites across the country in the normal course of your work.
