King & Moffatt Building Services are seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to join the business in a stand‑alone HR role, based in Wolverhampton.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced HR Manager to have responsibility for the operational management of the Human Resources function at King & Moffatt. This role will be responsible for managing all aspects of Human Resources across the business, providing hands‑on, practical HR support within a Mechanical and Electrical contract business. The successful candidate will be confident managing employee relations matters, advising managers, and making difficult, well‑judged people decisions.

• Act as the primary point of contact for all HR matters across the business
• Provide expert advice and guidance on HR policies, procedures, and employment legislation
• Manage employee relations cases end‑to‑end, including grievances, disciplinaries, absence, and performance management
• Handle complex and sensitive HR issues, making balanced and confident decisions
• Respond to general HR queries from managers and employees in a timely and professional manner
• Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies and procedures
• Support recruitment, onboarding, and employee assimilation processes
• Manage the local Apprentice and Graduate Programmes, including enhancing relationships with third‑level colleges and attending careers fairs etc
• Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation
• Promote best practice people management within a project‑based workforce
• Ensure compliance with employment legislation, company policies, and EHSQ requirement

• Minimum of 12 months’ experience in a Human Resources Manager or equivalent HR managerial role
• Significant experience working within a Human Resources generalist position
• Proven experience managing grievances, disciplinaries, and complex HR cases
• Strong working knowledge of employment legislation
• Ability to work independently in a stand‑alone HR role
• Confident decision‑maker with strong problem‑solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Previous experience within the construction or engineering sector
• Experience supporting site‑based or project‑driven work forces
• CIPD qualification or equivalent
• Experience advising senior management on people matters

Given the project‑based nature of the work carried out by K&M, you will be expected to work on varying sites and/or travel to varying sites across the country in the normal course of your work.
