Job Description & How to Apply Below

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and experienced Senior Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) to join our dynamic multidisciplinary team within the adult areas of the Emergency Department (ED) at New Cross Hospital. We are looking for a dynamic and forward-thinking senior decision maker, to join our established team of ACPs within Emergency Care. You will be supported by the Lead ACP and work alongside other Senior ACPs providing clinical support and supervision to qualified and trainee ACPs across all adult areas of the department.

This post is pivotal in providing expert clinical practice, advanced patient assessment and autonomous decision-making, in the delivery of safe, high-quality care across the acuity spectrum of adult patients presenting to the Emergency Department (ED).

The senior ACP will play a key role in driving service development, clinical governance and workforce transformation. The post-holder will work collaboratively with medical, nursing and allied health professional colleagues, to promote and facilitate the delivery of evidenced based care and advanced clinical practice.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder will practice independently across the adult areas of ED, autonomously assessing, examining, diagnosing and treating patients presenting with undifferentiated and undiagnosed care needs in all adult departmental areas (Resuscitation, Majors, SDEC and See & Treat).

The Senior ACP will demonstrate advanced clinical reasoning and evidenced based practice to support safe and effective patient care from admission to discharge.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the clinical supervision and line management of a team of ACPs and trainee ACPs, as well as supporting the development of other non-medical practitioners and junior medical staff.

The post-holder will contribute to the strategic direction of the service, by supporting departmental audit, quality improvement projects and research. In addition, he/she will work collaboratively with other specialties within the organisation, to enhance patient flow, optimise care pathways and maintain high standards of patient care.

The Senior ACP will act as a professional role model, promoting clinical excellence within the Trust and supporting ongoing workforce development in line with the Four Pillars of Advanced Practice.
