Are you confident, patient and passionate about supporting young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs?
We are working with a specialist provision in Wolverhampton supporting pupils in Years 7, 8 and 9 who are working at a primary learning level. Many pupils require additional behavioural support, emotional regulation strategies, and consistent adult guidance to help them engage with learning.
This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils who may have experienced barriers to mainstream education and require a structured, nurturing approach.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will:- Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEMH and additional learning needs.
- Support pupils with emotional regulation and behaviour management strategies.
- Assist the class teacher in delivering differentiated lessons.
- Build strong, positive relationships to promote trust and engagement.
- Help maintain a calm, structured and safe learning environment.
- Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH, behavioural needs or SEND is desirable.
- A resilient, patient and proactive approach.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries.
- A genuine commitment to supporting vulnerable learners.
- Hold Right to Work in the UK.
- Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS registered with the update service or be willing to apply for one.
- Provide two professional, child-related references covering the last two years.
