OverviewWokingham Borough Council is looking for a Referral Coordinator to join our dynamic MASH team. This vital role is the first point of contact for concerns about a child’s safety or welfare, ensuring timely and effective responses that make a real difference.
Responsibilities- Take, log, and progress referrals from members of the public and professionals working within prescribed timescales to assess risk and need.
- Gather relevant information from families and partner agencies, provide clear analysis and recommendations, and coordinate next steps – whether that’s escalation for statutory intervention or signposting to early help services.
- Arrange multi-agency meetings, liaise with professionals across health, education, and social care, and maintain strong relationships with partner organisations.
- Support families in distress, demonstrating empathy and resilience.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Experience in children’s services or a similar environment is desirable.
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and multi-agency working.
- Excellent communication skills, ability to work under pressure, commitment to safeguarding and confidentiality.
