Title:

Open Shift Architect

Duration: contract to run until 01/05/2026

Location: Wokingham, Hybrid 2 days per week

Rate: up to £552 p/d Umbrella inside IR35

Clearance required: Active SC is desired but SC Eligible will be considered

Create scalable, secure, and highly available Open Shift architectures, including cluster topology, networking, and storage solutions.

Migration: Lead application and workload migrations to Open Shift, often with minimal downtime, assessing readiness and developing detailed plans.

Integration: Integrate Open Shift with underlying infrastructure, including VMware (vSphere, NSX) and Pure Storage, and ensure seamless integration with existing systems.

Security & Compliance: Implement and enforce security best practices, such as Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and network policies, and conduct security assessments.

Automation & Dev Ops: Build CI/CD pipelines and automate Dev Ops workflows to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.

Technical Guidance: Provide technical guidance and training to development and operations teams on Open Shift architecture and best practices.

Platform Improvement: Continuously iterate on the platform by implementing enhancements, improving reliability, and ensuring the platform stays current.

• Open Shift & Kubernetes:
  Strong design and implementation experience with Red Hat Open Shift and underlying Kubernetes principles.
• Containerization:
  In-depth knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker.
• Virtualization:
  Expertise with VMware tools and technologies, such as vSphere and vCenter.
• Networking & Storage:
  Understanding of networking concepts (e.g., ingress, load balancing, DNS) and storage solutions (e.g., persistent volumes, dynamic provisioning).
• CI/CD & Dev Ops:
  Hands-on experience with Jenkins, ArgoCD, or similar CI/CD tools and a strong understanding of Dev Ops methodologies.
• Automation:
  Proficiency with automation tools and scripting languages such as Ansible, Terraform, Python, and Bash.
• Cloud Platforms:
  Experience with various IaaS platforms like AWS and Azure.
