Overview

Are you an experienced Occupational Therapist with strong skills in recovery-oriented, trauma-informed, and strengths-based practice? Are you keen to join a team where you can make a real change to both the service and its users?

Our Community Perinatal Mental Health Team provides specialist care for those experiencing moderate to severe mental health difficulties during the perinatal period. We work closely with a number of internal and external sector partners to deliver holistic, integrated care.

This role offers the chance to be part of a compassionate, forward-thinking team in which you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, recovery-focused and occupation-centred care. We believe in developing people, and welcome new experience and knowledge to aid team growth.

We are currently undergoing an exciting period of development and transformation, with a strong focus on improving access, experience and outcomes for service users and families; strengthening multidisciplinary and multi-agency working; embedding culturally sensitive, and occupation-focused practice; developing community-based interventions and pathways.

  • Undertake specialist occupational therapy assessments in community settings, including service users’ homes, clinics and where appropriate online.
  • Develop and deliver individualised, occupation-based interventions to support daily functioning, routines, roles, and identity during the perinatal period
  • Plan and facilitate therapeutic groups, where appropriate
  • Contribute to risk assessment, care planning, safeguarding, and discharge planning
  • Work collaboratively with perinatal colleagues, extended services, families and carers
  • Provide supervision and support to junior staff and students, as required
  • Actively contribute to service development, quality improvement, and outcome monitoring
