This is an opportunity to join us at the heart of real-time energy operations. As a Market Insight Analyst
, you will help ensure power system stability by translating market signals into actionable strategies. You will act as a bridge between long-term forecasting and the Control Room, helping our teams optimise electricity dispatch in an evolving energy landscape. We offer deep exposure to real-time operations and a supportive environment where you can collaborate with experts across trading and modelling teams.

This role can be based in Wokingham and we continue to offer hybrid working from office and home. We are open to full time and part time applicants, as well as flexible working arrangements.

Key accountabilities
  • Economic Analysis: Model and forecast energy requirements by bringing together data on Demand Physical Notifications, wholesale prices, and interconnector movements to understand market behaviour.
  • Control Room Support: Help ensure system reliability by forecasting interconnector changes based on price differentials and analysing generation behaviour (e.g., wind/solar response to negative pricing).
  • Insight & Reporting: Create clear KPIs and dashboards for leadership, helping to quantify operational impacts and champion data best practices.
  • Strategy & Support: Connect the ENCC (Control Centre) with flexibility market teams to help mitigate operational risks, while supporting the development of junior colleagues and sharing knowledge on economic data.
About you

We are looking for a forward-thinking problem solver interested in building new capabilities in an operational environment.

  • Experience: A Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, or experience in a related field, along with experience in the energy industry.
  • Market Knowledge: A strong interest in energy with great appreciation how price fluctuations influence demand and generation.

    Skills:

    Comfortable with statistical modelling, data visualisation, and Excel, with an ability to turn complex data into clear insights.
  • Mindset: You enjoy collaboration, building strong relationships, and are eager to learn about industry trends and emerging technologies.

About what'll get

A competitive salary between £60,000 - £75,000 – dependent on experience and capability.
