Role Summary

Reddam House Berkshire is a flagship UK school of the successful Reddam House International group. Set in 125 acres of wood and parkland, housed in a magnificent mansion building, the school emphasizes independence and encourages students to take responsibility for their own learning. The school serves over 800 students from ages 3 months to 18 years across Early Learning, Junior, Middle and Senior Schools.

As a maternity cover position for 12 months starting March 2026, the successful candidate will deliver inspirational lessons across the Science curriculum for KS3, KS4 (Edexcel) and KS5.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver outstanding classroom practice using a variety of engaging methods and techniques.
  • Build excellent rapport with students and participate in pastoral care, including acting as a form tutor.
  • Plan lessons in accordance with the school’s schemes of work for each course.
  • Know students well, understanding prior learning and progression needs.
  • Set high expectations for student achievement.
  • Set and assess work in line with the School’s assessment policy, providing positive, meaningful feedback.
  • Monitor students’ performance, continually raising achievement levels.
  • Report accurately and honestly on progress in line with the School’s reporting schedules.
  • Participate in the wider life of the School, including trips and activities.
Ideal Candidate
  • Consistently teach inspirational and varied lessons that raise student attainment.
  • Ability to teach KS3 and some KS2 Science, as well as GCSE Biology.
  • Ability to teach all three GCSE sciences and/or A‑Level Biology would be beneficial.
