We're looking for a skilled Sous Chef to lead shifts in a busy MOD Woking kitchen near Pirbright. You'll manage staff, oversee daily operations, and deliver high-quality dishes, all while benefiting from a structured and supportive environment. There's no responsibility for menus, rosters, or ordering - you'll focus on running the shifts and leading the team.

• Competitive pay of £17.34 per hour (including holiday pay)
• 37.5 hours per week across a mixture of early (05:00-13:30) and late (11:30-19:30) shifts, including weekends
• Excellent work/life balance, normally two weeks off at Christmas
• Free meals while on duty and free parking
• Temp-to-perm opportunity after 12 weeks
• Immediate start once the right candidate is found

• Lead and manage kitchen staff across shifts
• Supervise and coordinate day-to-day kitchen operations
• Assist in food preparation, cooking, and plating
• Maintain quality control and consistency of all dishes
• Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards
• Train and mentor members of the kitchen team

• Proven experience in a professional kitchen, ideally in a supervisory role
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate a team
• Excellent knowledge of cooking techniques, food preparation, and plating standards

• Strong organisational and time-management skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work under pressure during busy service periods
