Mazco Recruitment is partnering with a precision engineering manufacturer seeking an experienced Bench Hand / Deburring Operator to join their production team. This role is ideal for someone with excellent attention to detail who takes pride in producing high-quality finished components.
🔹 The Role
As a Bench Hand / Deburring Operator, you will be responsible for manually removing burrs, sharp edges, and surface imperfections from machined components to ensure they meet strict quality and safety standards. You will play a key role in the final presentation and functionality of precision-engineered parts.
🔹 Key Responsibilities
* Manual deburring of machined components using files, scrapers, deburring knives, abrasives, and rotary tools
* Visual and dimensional inspection of parts to ensure all burrs and sharp edges are removed to specification
* Working from engineering drawings, work instructions, and quality standards
* Maintaining consistent quality and workmanship across all components
* Handling parts carefully to avoid surface damage or defects
* Identifying and reporting non-conforming parts or quality issues
* Keeping the work area clean, organised, and compliant with 5S standards
* Adhering to all health, safety, and environmental procedures
* Meeting productivity targets while maintaining high quality standards
* Supporting teamwork and continuous improvement within the production area
🔹 Essential Skills & Experience
* Previous experience in a manufacturing or workshop environment
* Hands-on experience with manual deburring or finishing processes
* Good manual dexterity and strong attention to detail
* Ability to use hand tools and work with small or precision components
* Basic understanding of engineering drawings and tolerances
* Reliable, well-organised, and quality-focused
🔹 Desirable
* Experience in precision engineering, CNC machining, or metal fabrication
* Understanding of surface finish requirements and quality inspection
* Basic mechanical or engineering qualification
