Analyst – Data Centre Operations

Working Hours:

37 hours per week, standard hours (no shift).

Required:

Eligibility for SC clearance and a full UK driving license.

The Analyst – Data Centre Operations will aid in the deployment, operation and management of customers in the data centres. Reporting to the Manager – Data Centre Operations, responsibilities include managing whitespace, colocation, managed customer racks, data cabling, power management, hardware installation, circuit installations, media handling, and fulfillment of tasks on the data centre floor as required.

Also responsible for completing facilities checks, reporting issues, serving as point of contact for the facilities team, and maintaining the site for customer visits.

• Provide operational support to all customers based in a Site (verbal, written, face‑to‑face communication).
• Manage maintenance and progression of records for all work and status updates using the prescribed Ticketing System, Capacity and Tracking Systems, Online Tools and Databases.
• Conduct work for or on behalf of the company: audits (site and rack), cabling, cross connects, decommissioning, tape rotation, etc.
• Maintain the physical hosting infrastructure (racks, patch frames/panels, data and power trays, cabling, cross connects, Telco Carrier space).
• Assist the Site Manager in maintaining the look and feel of the site in cooperation with Product and Support Groups (floor walks, cleanliness, removal of rubbish, process deliveries and collections, monitoring mechanical and electrical function).
• Communicate with customers to manage work for support and setup of customer‑specific requirements and liaise with internal teams.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues, operating in a collegiate manner at all times and in line with the company’s values.

• Ensure awareness of and compliance with all relevant company regulations and policies.
• Follow departmental policies and working practices to prevent information security breaches.
• Maintain data protection and provide information on a need‑to‑know basis.
• Play an active role in preventing unauthorized access and damage to information.
• Report security weaknesses and incidents to relevant personnel, including the Security function, in a timely manner.

• Minimum one (1) year experience in a similar role (Business Continuity or Managed Services).
• Experience handling and storing customer data.
• Firm understanding of data cabling installation, management and patching.
• Experience in using a ticketing system.
• Understanding of IT systems.
• Rack installation experience.
• Computer hardware maintenance (troubleshooting, diagnostics, repair, replacement).
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, for customer interaction.
• Excellent organizational and time‑management skills.

• Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) or Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE).
• Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician (CCENT) or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).
• ITIL V3.
• SQL database scripting.
• Customer service experience.
• Advanced application use (Excel, SharePoint, Google Docs, Office 365, etc.).
• Tactical skills such as cross‑connects, decommissioning, tape rotation.
