Overview
We are recruiting two Senior Commissioning Managers on a permanent basis who will each have a lead responsibility for the management and development of commissioned support for people with disabilities who have eligible care needs. The posts sit within the Disabilities Commissioning Team. The priorities for both will be to ensure that Surrey County Council has a robust offer for people with eligible care needs who draw on Community Accommodation, including Shared Lives and Supported Independent Living, and/or on support with Everyday Living.
They will also support the continual improvement of support delivered through other models of care and/or through Direct Payments / ISFs. The roles require strong relationships with service users and their friends and family, with the provider market, social work teams, other commissioners of adult and young people's social care services and with key stakeholders in the health system: coproduction is key to achieving our ambition.
Skills in pursuing innovation and market development are essential, to maximise our use of the range of support available. You will need to demonstrate an ability to work collaboratively across the sector in order to achieve the best outcomes for Surrey residents and ensure SCC can do so within budget and without compromising on quality.
The roles will involve ensuring that Surrey County Council has a robust offer for people who draw on Community Accommodation and Everyday Living supports, supporting continual improvement of other models of care, developing relationships across the sector, and delivering outcomes efficiently and at high quality. The Senior Commissioning Managers will practice co‑production and partnership working with service users, families, providers, social workers, commissioners and health system stakeholders.
