To work on the in-patient unit (IPU) at Woking and Sam Beare Hospice (WSBH)
To workunder the direction of the IPU manager, Nurse in Charge and as part of amulti-disciplinary team to support patients with all their nutritional needs
Ensures adequate monitoring of ward consumable stock and rotation of ward consumables.
Responsible in monitoring and maintaining medication supplies to support safe and effective patient care.
Main duties of the jobResponsible for supporting patients nutritional needs by assisting them with meal choices and serving meals in linewith their dietary requirements.
Report any observations/changes to a patients nutritional needs to the Nurse in charge.
To beskilled in communication with patients and staff.
To develop and maintain effective relationships with all members of the multi-disciplinary team.
To support the development and implementation of care pathways and patient information.
Develop an autonomous approach within professional practice.
To be aware of the principles of infection control in line with Hospice Policy ensuring high standards of practice in self and others to promote a safe environment for patient care.
To be responsible for own professional actions guided by national, local and organisational policies, protocols, and guidance.
Assist in the provision of safe, high-quality nutritional care.
Maintain accurate records of ward consumable stock orders and supplies received
Assist in the ordering of ward stock medicines and clinical consumables in line with hospice policies and national medicines management standards.
Maintain accurate stock records using manual and electronic systems to ensure traceability and minimise waste.
Monitoring appropriate temperature monitoring of the clinical room, medication fridge and fridges in the relative room.
Work collaboratively with the Inpatient Unit Manager toensure effective stock control are adequate

Person Specification Qualifications
- GCSE in English & Maths or equivalent
- Strong numerical and budgeting abilities
- Experience of working in a multidisciplinary team
- Knowledge of palliative care or relevant experience
- Knowledge of national, regional, and local policy in relation to quality standards, targets, and improvements initiatives
- Experience of previous stock management duties
- Experience of working in a palliative care setting
- Experience of working with patients with a life limiting illness and end of life care.
- Knowledge of procurement regulations and best practices
- A legal right to work in the UK.
- A willingness to the undergo the relevant Disclosure & Barring (DBS) check to work.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to motivate and inspire others.
- Physically fit to perform the duties and responsibilities of the role. Form and maintain professional working relationships.
- Calm, organised, approachable, enthusiastic, and punctual.
- Good working knowledge and application of the MS Office packages.
- Effective time management and organisation skills
- Ability to respond to changes in patient conditions
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

- Proven experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain operations
