Our first employee‑owned social enterprise in the UK, CSH Surrey provides community adult health services across North‑West Surrey. We are looking for an experienced, clinically qualified Non‑Executive Director to join our Board and chair our Integrated Governance Committee.

As a Non‑Executive Director and Board member you will bring independent clinical challenge, strategic insight and governance expertise to support CSH Surrey in delivering safe, compassionate care. Your key responsibilities will be to assure the effectiveness of our clinical governance framework, provide constructive challenge and assurance on patient safety, experience, clinical quality standards, infection prevention & control, safeguarding and the professional leadership of nursing and allied health professionals.

You will also contribute to the organisation’s wider strategic direction and culture of continuous improvement.

• Participate fully as a member of Board committees to which you are appointed, and chair committees when appointed.
• Visit CSH teams and speak to colleagues, patients and their families.
• Provide independent challenge and oversight on patient safety, quality, safeguarding and professional leadership.
• Support the Board’s strategic direction, culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
• Attend Board and committee meetings, away days and other internal/external meetings as required.
• Uphold the highest standards of integrity and probity in all duties.

• Essential – NMC‑registered nurse with substantial senior clinical leadership experience at Board, Executive Director or equivalent level.
• Essential – Proven track record in clinical governance, patient safety and quality improvement within an NHS, community or other regulated healthcare environment.
• Essential – Current UK professional registration; familiarity with NHS Careers and UK regulations.
• Disclosure and Barring Service Check and Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 clearance required.
