Role Overview

Hoe Bridge School is seeking a Finance Manager. The role is wide‑range with responsibility for staff management, financial and management accounting and reporting, cash flow management, compliance and budgeting. The Finance Manager is responsible for the effective financial management of the school, ensuring strong financial controls, accurate reporting, and compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements. The role supports senior leadership by providing financial insight, budgeting, and strategic advice to ensure the school’s financial sustainability.

• Financial and management accounting and reporting
• Cash flow management
• Compliance and budgeting
• Provide financial insight, budgeting and strategic advice to senior leadership

• Ability to prioritise workloads effectively
• Maintain confidentiality, remain calm under pressure and use tact and discretion when dealing with people
• Willingness to learn, work as part of a team and support the wider life of the school
• Trustworthy, discreet, organised, deadline‑focused and proactive, solutions‑oriented, with a collaborative leadership style
• Full‑time experience in a finance management role with a strong track record in team development
• Excellent budgeting and reporting skills, high level of attention to detail, and strong analytical and communication abilities
• Proficiency in accounting systems and Microsoft Excel
• Experience with in the education or not‑for‑profit sector (desirable)
• Professional accounting qualification or qualified by experience (desirable)
• Working knowledge of VAT partial exemption (desirable)

£50,000 to £55,000, reflecting qualifications and experience.
