Finance Manager

Overview

Hoe Bridge School is seeking a Finance Manager. The role is wide-ranging with responsibility for staff management, financial and management accounting and reporting, cashflow management, compliance and budgeting. The Finance Manager is responsible for the effective financial management of the school, ensuring strong financial controls, accurate reporting, and compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements. The role supports senior leadership by providing financial insight, budgeting, and strategic advice to ensure the school's financial sustainability.

• Manage staff and oversee financial and management accounting, reporting and budgeting processes.
• Oversee cashflow management, financial controls and statutory/regulatory compliance.
• Provide financial insight and strategic financial advice to support senior leadership and school sustainability.
• Lead on budgeting, forecasting and management reporting to support decision making.
• Support the wider life of the school and work as part of a collaborative leadership team.

• Full-time Finance Manager with proven experience in a finance management role and a strong track record in team development.
• Excellent budgeting and reporting skills with high attention to detail and strong analytical and communication abilities.
• Proficiency in accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to prioritise workloads, maintain confidentiality, stay calm under pressure and exercise tact and discretion.
• Desirable: experience in the education or not-for-profit sector, a professional accounting qualification or being qualified by experience, and a working knowledge of VAT partial exemption.

Salary: £50,000 to £55,000, reflecting qualifications and experience.
