Assistant Accountant

Overview

This is an excellent opportunity for an Assistant Accountant to join a retail organisation, start as a temporary position, with the opportunity of the role going permanent. The role will be supporting on month end, journals, bank reconciliations and general accounting.

• Assist with the preparation of financial statements and reports.
• Support the processing of accounts payable and receivable transactions.
• Help reconcile bank statements and manage account balances.
• Contribute to month-end and year-end financial closing activities.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
• Provide support for audits and compliance requirements.
• Assist with payroll processing and related documentation.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth financial operations.

• A Successful Assistant Accountant Should Have Experience in a similar role, ideally someone who is immediately available or on a short notice.
• Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a retail environment.
• Capability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.

A salary of up to £40,000, benefits and hybrid working.
