General Description: The Industry Specialized Program for Select Commercial Insurance Sales Producer
-Industry Specialized role is a comprehensive outside sales program focused on driving new business sales revenue growth for commercial business clients with sales under $10 mm. The role establishes wins through an assigned book of qualified prospects within an industry specialization:
Construction, Commercial Real Estate, Healthcare or Industrial
. The program develops insurance industry knowledge, obtains insurance licensing, and focuses on outside sales opportunities while leveraging current industry knowledge.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Achieve annual new business sales goals for companies with sales less than $10 mm.
  • Cross‑sell opportunities with other practices (Property/Casualty, Employee Benefits, Personal Risk Services) to meet revenue targets.
  • Generate sufficient new business leads and first appointment activity volume.
  • Identify and overcome sales obstacles on a prospect‑specific basis.
  • Master USI’s competitive differentiation, including presentation templates and solution pages.
  • Communicate solutions effectively to non‑insurance buyers.
  • Develop relationships and achieve goals within a specific industry specialization.
  • Use CRM systematically to support sales processes and realistic revenue projections.
  • Participate in USI Industry Specialized Program, USI University and USI Select ONE Academy.
  • Obtain proper insurance licensing through the Industry Specialized Program and independent study.
  • Develop and deploy sales and marketing strategies with periodic communications to optimize USI’s marketplace position.
  • Represent USI positively in meetings, seminars, trade shows and networking events.
  • Collaborate with account management team and national/regional resources to maximize results.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • 3–5 years of related business‑to‑business sales experience, including senior executive calling and a track record of financial success.
  • Current sales success within one of the following industries:
    Construction, Commercial Real Estate, Healthcare or Industrial.
  • Personable, highly motivated, goal‑oriented, and organized individual driven to achieve individual sales goals.
  • Superior written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Excellent organization, follow‑up, and customer focus skills.
  • Teamwork skills and ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Executive presence and ability to work with senior level‑management.
  • College degree preferred.
