The Account Manager is responsible for the overall health and growth of assigned accounts and developing new accounts. Additionally, the Account Manager holds a working role as Senior Event Rental Consultant responsible for account management including sales activities from initiation through close. Responsibilities include entering and updating orders in our computer system, troubleshooting inventory questions, meeting with clients on site, and traveling to installations if approved by the Regional Director of Tent Sales and Production.
The position works collaboratively with other sales consultants and various departments to achieve customer satisfaction. The Account Manager strengthens customer relationships, grows assigned accounts, generates revenue, and achieves long‑term goals in line with company vision and values, with a proven track record of sales ranging between $2‑4 M+.
In this role you will:
- Directly ensure the satisfaction of assigned key accounts
- Proactively meet with key accounts to showcase equipment, offer suggestions and growth strategies
- Answer phones, create customer orders and assist customers with order design, order changes and questions
- Proactively maintain and expand strategic accounts
- Consult with clients to determine event details and rental needs
- Identify and manage target client prospects
- Prepare all customer quotes and follow up within 72 hours
- Enter customer orders and production schedules/timelines, verify accuracy, complete revisions/additions
- Participate and share experiences in weekly sales meetings
- Identify leads, close sales, manage prospects and acquire new business
- Conduct showroom appointments and assist with showroom visitors
- Master order entry software including delivery, return, and labor pricing and billing procedures
- Problem‑solve and troubleshoot rental inventory issues
- Educate and inform customers about all rental items and cross‑sell all company products
- Work nights and weekends as required for appointments, site visits and installations
- Respect the confidentiality of client and company information
- Establish yourself as a trustworthy member of the sales team
- Attend at least one industry networking event per month and build relationships for future business
- Offer guidance and solutions to junior inside sales team as needed
- Act as a role model within the department and company
- Work with senior management to develop strategies and achieve sales goals
- Report directly to the Regional Director of Tent Sales and Production
- Communicate clearly, be a team player and help out when needed to succeed
- Develop trust within the Sales Department and honor commitments to customers for the company’s high‑quality reputation
- 5‑7 years of hospitality or sales experience
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding multi‑million‑dollar revenue goals
- Familiarity with tented projects preferred
- Sales experience and a hospitality degree is a plus
- Availability to work Monday through Friday during business hours (rotating weekends as needed)
- Proficient with computers (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
