Sanegene Bio is currently seeking a Sr. Research Associate, Associate Scientist, or Sr. Associate Scientist (title dependent on prior experience and capabilities) to join our team to advance our RNAi technologies and programs. This laboratory-based role will support our pioneering biologists in identifying and validating drug targets for cardiometabolic and autoimmune diseases.

This individual will also support research to investigate innovative drug delivery approaches, including novel ligand/receptor approaches to achieve tissue-selective pharmacology.

• Perform and/or support complex and time-sensitive laboratory tasks under the supervision of our biology leaders; this includes in vitro assays, in vivo studies, and molecular endpoints to evaluate our experimental therapeutics
• Carefully perform laboratory work according to SOPs and protocols; participate in protocol generation and maintenance. Support the generation of detailed study reports and maintain research records in an electronic notebook system according to the company documentation policy
• Develop, validate, implement, and troubleshoot molecular/cell biology-based assays
• Actively participate in project meetings, present research and proposals

• B.S. or M.S. in Biochemistry, Biology, Pharmacology or related disciplines
• 3+ years in a biopharma industry laboratory setting
• Technical expertise in a subset of the following methodologies: qPCR, nucleic acid isolation, western blot, ELISA, plate-based assays, high-throughput screening, immunohistochemistry, and/or other imaging methods.
• Hands-on experience with rodent pharmacology, preferably including disease modeling, as well as dosing and tissue sampling methods. Familiarity with IACUC and the research animal compliance framework
• Molecular/cell biology and pharmacology knowledge foundation, including the principles of genetic medicines, RNA, and PK/PD. Ability to independently read scientific literature and generate experimental ideas
• Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills; ability to thrive in a fast-paced team environment. Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills, uncompromising in research ethics.
