We are searching for a candidate with a proven track record of independently analyzing and processing mass spectral data from complicated samples. The successful candidate will have experience working with a variety of analytical techniques and be capable of working with stakeholders and instrument operators to provide accurate and timely results, while guiding and supporting analytical method development. The candidate should also possess an understanding of the needs of the Medical Device, Pharma and/or Food contact regulatory environments.
Primary tasks include:
- Primary analysis for all types of MS data with an emphasis on LC-MS and LC-MS/MS data
- Receive data from instrument operators
- Develop and optimize analytical procedures that use MS detection
- Collate and present results with an understanding of the needs of the specific project
- Writing qualification documents (to ICH or USP criteria), SOPs and training staff to newly developed methods
- Provide sales and/or project support for projects within the Med Device and/or Pharma space
- Generating data and implementing quality control activities consistent with the needs of regulatory bodies
- Documentation, data/method/library organization, report generation, and clear communication of results
- Train and mentor team members in MS data analysis best practices
Position Requirements
The ideal candidate should hold at least a
B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent work experience. 5-10 years (depending on degree level) of experience in one of the following areas is preferred:
- Contract R&D or CRO/CDMO lab
- Extractable & leachable (E&L) or chemical characterization lab
- Polymer analysis lab
- Failure analysis or forensic lab
- Manufacturing QC lab
- Academic analytical lab with substantial throughput
