Role overview:

The Branch Manager leads all aspects of a high-volume roofing and building materials distribution branch, overseeing sales, operations, and a team of 10‑15 employees to drive profitable growth in the Woburn, MA market. Roofing products represent approximately 95% of the business, with additional growth opportunities in HVAC, plumbing, and other building materials categories. The role requires an aggressive, assertive, self-starter with strong P&L responsibility who can manage commercial and residential customer relationships while running an efficient small‑warehouse distribution operation.

Key responsibilities:
  • Lead and develop a team of approximately 10‑15 employees, setting clear performance expectations and fostering an accountable, results‑driven culture.
  • Own full branch P&L, including revenue growth, margin management, expense control, and overall profitability for a market with roughly 21M in sales volume.
  • Drive sales primarily in roofing products, while also promoting HVAC, plumbing, and other building materials to a balanced base of commercial and residential customers.
  • Oversee branch operations, including warehouse, inventory, order fulfillment, and delivery, ensuring accurate, on‑time service to roofing and building materials customers.
  • Utilize Agility (or similar ERP) to manage orders, inventory, and reporting, ensuring data integrity and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with company leadership on strategy, local market initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts to differentiate the branch from competitors.
  • Recruit, train, and retain talent with “thick skin” who can thrive in a fast‑paced, demanding environment.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and any required background, drug screening, or assessments in the hiring process.
Role requirements:
  • Previous leadership experience in distribution, ideally in roofing or closely related building materials, with openness to HVAC, plumbing, and other construction products.
  • Successful track record managing a team of 10+ people and holding direct P&L responsibility for a similar‑sized branch or business unit.
  • Experience serving both commercial and residential contractor customers, with strong local market knowledge within a 25‑mile radius of Woburn, MA.
  • Proficiency with Agility or comparable ERP / distribution software.
  • Personality that is aggressive, assertive, and highly self motivated, with the resilience and “thick skin” needed to handle daily challenges.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and decision‑making skills, with the ability to prioritize and execute in a high‑urgency environment.
Compensation and benefits:
  • Competitive base salary commensurate with experience and market, with a target range aligned to a 21M revenue branch.
