Position Type: Contract
Contract Duration: 5 Months
Start: As Soon As Possible
Pay Rate: $30.00 – $39.00/hour
Shift/Hours: Thursday–Saturday & every other Wednesday | 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM
Conversion Potential: Yes – potential to convert to full-time

Job Summary:

The Maintenance Technician supports facility operations within a semiconductor manufacturing environment, ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of building systems, equipment, and infrastructure. This role requires strong safety awareness, hands-on technical skills across multiple trades, and comfort working around hazardous materials and chemicals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and repair facility structures, equipment, and grounds (interior and exterior)

  • Perform skilled trades work including carpentry, painting, patching, and finishing

  • Support manufacturing and process engineering with installation and repair of plumbing and wiring

  • Conduct environmental and facility rounds (alarms, temperature checks, VOC scrubbers, filtration systems)

  • Perform periodic and special inspections to identify repair and maintenance needs

  • Execute preventive maintenance and work orders using a maintenance database

  • Demonstrate safe and proper use of tools, equipment, and PPE

  • Interface safely with building fire protection systems

  • Manage and maintain inventories of critical consumable supplies

  • Support industrial wastewater treatment systems, including calibration and corrective actions

  • Maintain accurate documentation including shift checklists and system readings

  • Prioritize tasks, escalate urgent issues, and communicate status effectively

  • Support Emergency Response Team activities as required

  • Ensure all required training and certifications remain current

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry

  • Ability to safely work in environments with hazardous materials and chemicals

  • Ability to read and execute documented procedures, work instructions, and blueprints

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively

  • Basic computer skills using MS Word, Excel, and Power Point

  • Ability to pass Fit-for-Duty and drug screening requirements

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

  • Hazardous Materials Training

  • HAZWOPER (10/30/40-hour) certification

  • OSHA 10/30-hour training

  • Massachusetts Wastewater License (Grade 1 or higher)

    • If not currently licensed, employer will sponsor certification within the first year

  • Experience working in semiconductor or advanced manufacturing environments

  • Comfort wearing respirators (SCBA) and working with chemicals such as gallium, arsenic, chlorine, ammonia, and xylene
