The Starting Hourly Rate is $18.50 USD per hour. The Pay Range is $18.50 USD – $27.75 USD per hour.

On‑Demand Team Member (TM) Overview

You can work as much or as little as you like. Your schedule may vary depending on shift availability and store needs. As an On‑Demand TM you will create your own schedule by picking up shifts posted by leaders or other team members via the myTime mobile scheduling app. Reliable and prompt attendance is required. You must work at least one shift within 5 months or your employment may be terminated.

Advocates of guest experience welcome, thank, and exceed guest service expectations. They are knowledgeable about in‑store and digital services, solutions, and capabilities, ensuring shopping is quick and easy for guests at check‑lanes, guest services, gift registry, pick‑up and drive‑up.

Responsibilities
  • Communicate and interact with guests to build an inclusive experience.
  • Apply problem‑solving and decision‑making to positively impact guest experience and resolve concerns.
  • Adapt to different guest interactions and situations.
  • Promote and engage around benefits, offerings, and services.
  • Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the guest service experience.
  • Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests while completing daily tasks.
  • Engage with guests in a welcoming manner to help solve their specific needs.
  • Be knowledgeable about store tools, products, and services to improve guest experience.
  • Thank guests and let them know we’re happy they chose Target.
  • Scan and bag all guest items efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with safety standards.
  • Work efficiently to minimize guest wait time while maintaining service and accuracy.
  • Inform guests of current and upcoming brand launches, store activities, and events.
  • Explain Target Loyalty programs, assist with application or sign‑up, and enroll guests in fulfillment services.
  • Show guests how to use Wallet and the Target App features.
  • Attempt every return and follow register prompts, partnering with leaders as needed.
  • Partner with leaders to de‑escalate situations and recover guest experience following policies.
  • Deliver accurate service to all Order Pick Up, Drive‑Up, and Registry guests.
  • Maintain a clean, clutter‑free work area.
  • Stock supplies during open hours while being available for guests.
  • Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance.
  • Work safely, comply with safety policies, and report hazards.
  • Support guest services such as order pick‑up, Drive‑up Orders, DU Returns, and maintain compliance with beverage laws.
  • Support Cash Office processes as needed, including cash system management.
  • Perform other duties as needed based on business needs.
Qualifications
  • Enjoy interacting and helping others, including guests and team members.
  • Thrive in a fast‑moving, highly active, and physically demanding role that requires teamwork, flexibility, and creative problem‑solving.
  • Open to a flexible work schedule with varying hours, days, or shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, and peak times.
  • Communicate effectively, using positive language and attentive to guests’ needs.
  • Remain focused and composed in a fast‑paced environment and complete multiple tasks within established time frames.
  • Maintain a welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and team members.
  • Show attention to detail while multi‑tasking.
  • Educate guests and engage around products and services.
  • Operate handheld scanners and other technology equipment as directed.
  • Work independently and as part of a team.
  • Accurately handle cash register operations and support cash office operations.
  • Lift or move merchandise safely, up to 10 pounds routinely and up to 44 pounds occasionally.
  • Provide flexibility when picking up shifts (e.g., nights, weekends, holidays).
  • Respond to contact attempts and work at least one shift within 5 months.
  • Perform duties in varying temperatures, humidity, and other environmental elements.
  • Remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift.
