- Interpret construction plans and specifications to support bid development
- Perform detailed quantity take-off surveys using On Screen Takeoff software
- Assist with bid preparation following established estimating policies and procedures to ensure complete and accurate estimates
- Attend scope review meetings with senior estimators to gain client-facing experience
- Apply knowledge of local and state-level labor, material, and equipment costs to develop written estimates
- Participate actively in comprehensive training and development programs
- Develop expertise in:
- Project folder management, field packages, cost control, and accounting systems
- Field methods and systems through site visits to active projects
- Local, city, and state building codes
- Labor, material and equipment cost analysis
- Business development and company marketing strategies
- All product lines including drywall, acoustical ceilings/tile, and more
- Build essential skills to:
- Prepare professional written proposals and complete, verified estimates
- Conduct thorough research, analysis, and vendor/material pricing
- Support the Business Development Manager with marketing and project closings
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- B.S. Degree in civil engineering, construction management, architecture, finance, or accounting is preferred
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Ability to thrive and produce quality work in fast-paced, high-pressure environments
- Proven ability to meet or exceed goals with minimal supervision
- Self-motivated with strong initiative
- Collaborative team player
- Genuine desire and enthusiasm to learn and grow!
