We are seeking a scientifically trained professional who is excited to transition from the bench into a client-facing commercial role. As a Scientific Account Manager, you will work at the intersection of structural biology and business, helping pharma and biotech partners advance protein structure determination projects using our Single Particle Analysis cryo
EM and protein production services.
This role is ideal for a recent PhD graduate or postdoctoral researcher who enjoys explaining complex science, collaborating across teams, and thinking strategically about how research translates into therapeutic impact.
You will receive hands‑on mentorship and training in business development, account management, and commercial strategy while leveraging your scientific expertise.
This is a 6‑month contract position, based in Woburn, MA, with strong potential to transition to a permanent role based on performance and business needs.

Salary range: $120K-$140K/yr
Reports to:
Chief Commercial Officer
- Serve as a scientific liaison between pharma/biotech clients and internal science and operations teams
- Build strong, trusted relationships with clients by understanding their structural biology challenges and aligning solutions
- Support growth within existing accounts by identifying project expansion opportunities
- Learn to prospect and develop new client relationships in collaboration with the commercial team
- Translate complex cryo
EM and protein production concepts into clear value propositions tailored to client needs - Prepare and deliver scientific presentations to prospective and existing customers
- Partner cross‑functionally to ensure projects are delivered on time and client expectations are exceeded
- Gather and communicate customer insights to help shape service offerings and pricing strategy
- Represent the company at scientific conferences and industry events
- Maintain accurate CRM records throughout the sales and project lifecycle
- Travel approximately 30% of the time, including potential West Coast travel
- Scientific Background:
PhD in biochemistry, biophysics, structural biology, or a related discipline - Hands‑on experience with cryo
EM techniques;
Single Particle Analysis experience strongly preferred - Strong understanding of protein structure determination and protein production workflows
- Comfortable discussing scientific data with both technical and non‑technical audiences
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Curious about the commercial side of science and motivated to learn business development fundamentals
- Relationship‑oriented and comfortable engaging with external clients
- Entrepreneurial mindset with strong initiative and accountability
- Adaptable and eager to grow within a fast‑moving CRO environment
- High integrity and commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences
