A multimillion-dollar national contracting firm is seeking an Accounting Manager to support its corporate and regional offices. This position is fully on-site 5 days a week in Burlington, MA and will pay a competitive base salary up to $140,000 plus bonus.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop a team covering contract billing (AIA, change orders, retainage), AR/general accounting, and AP.
  • Drive the monthly close and prepare full monthly financial statements with meaningful variance analysis.
  • Oversee balance sheet reconciliations, including cash, AR, AP, WIP, and retainage.
  • Ensure accurate job costing, WIP reporting, percentage-of-completion revenue recognition, and job profitability forecasting.
  • Own Sage 300 CRE (Timberline), including job setup, cost codes, commitments, change orders, and reporting.
  • Manage AR aging, collections, lien waivers, and cash applications.
  • Partner with project managers and sales leadership on project financials, commissions, and job performance reporting.
  • Strengthen internal controls and drive process improvements and automation.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, audits, tax compliance, and weekly cash flow reporting in partnership with the VP of Finance.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (Master’s a plus).
  • CPA strongly preferred, public accounting and construction experience highly valued.
  • 5–10 years of accounting experience, including 3–5+ years in construction or project-based environments.
  • Sage 300 CRE (Timberline) experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of construction accounting (POC, AIA billing, job costing, WIP, retainage).
  • Advanced Excel/reporting skills.
  • Ability to communicate financial insights clearly to operations and executive teams.
