Field Service Technician

Overview

Zimmermann Inc., a subsidiary of

F.Zimmermann GmbH, is recruiting for a Field Service Technician (FST) based in Washington with travel throughout the US, Canada and Mexico.

• Provide high quality, efficient and timely machine/tooling installation, repair and maintenance at customer site as assigned
• Write detailed reports after each service visit. Must have the ability to accurately document, complete and report required information for work records, customers and internal records
• Consult with other team members, internal departments and/or external vendors to resolve issues related to installation, service/repair, etc.
• Assist other Zimmermann Inc. departments (e.g., Customer Service, Warehouse, Shipping) as needed.
• Other duties as assigned

• Preferred - 2 years Electrical, Mechanical or Technical Degree or 2-5 years’ experience as a field service technician in the machine industry
• Experience in troubleshooting, installation, and repair of machine tools
• Knowledge of CNC Controls by Siemens, Heidenhain or Fanuc desired but not required
• Ability to work independently in a timely manner with high quality under minimal supervision
• Working knowledge of how to read mechanical drawings and wiring diagrams
• May require significant support to include weekend/holiday work
• Must be able and have clearance to travel extensively in North America, Canada and Mexico with a valid passport. Approximately 80% travel required
• A valid driver’s license and a good driving record
• Demonstrated ability and commitment to customer satisfaction
• Good interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to maintain professional conduct when dealing with customers, colleagues and suppliers
• Physical demands:
  Must have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs., may include standing and bending for long period of time
• Ability to pass a background check and a drug screen
• Must be eligible to work in the US without VISA sponsorship
