Our well-established Client are leaders in their industry and operate across the globe. They are currently looking for a Manufacturing Manager to manage the team, implementing best practice, continuous improvement and modern manufacturing practices.

Roles and Responsibilities:
* Act as the Manufacturing Manager RPE & Hearing Industrial BU department. Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice manufacturing vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve operational performance
* Empower all Shift Supervisors to execute the production plan effectively by supporting and guiding them to take ownership of running their teams, complete works orders, and balance production lines to ensure maximum production output and efficiency. Ensure priorities are communicated in advance (in particular for weekend and night shifts) so that Shift Supervisors are confident to make decisions on their own
* Identify business improvement opportunities within the organisation, such as the implementation of LEAN manufacturing projects (including, but not limited to; process mapping, 5S projects, line-balancing)
* Meet daily with BU Leader, Planning Co-ordinator and Shift Supervisor(s) on duty. Use ‘Plan, Do, Check, Act’ methodology to track progress of tasks, report and share issues and agree on actions to resolve, to ensure the target productivity level is achieved
* Alongside the Planning Co-ordinator, use daily and weekly Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reports (production output, OEE, Production efficiency etc.) to make strategic decisions for the BU (e.g., recruitment of agency staff, use of machines, managing priorities)
* Work in conjunction with the Planning Co-Ordinator to ensure Works Orders for stocked, made to order and print/customisation products are released in a timely fashion and placed into the production planner in the most effective order to maximise production efficiency
* Ensure maximum number of jobs are processed ‘on-line’ as opposed to off-line finishing
* Understand the levers that control how, why and when demand to manufacture is created in Sage X3. Understand how Safety Stocks are calculated and work with the BU Leader to update these monthly – ensuring the right balance is found between customer service and inventory optimisation (amount of stock held)
* Undertaking continuous training and development, driving process improvements in all areas of the manufacturing process by appropriate data analysis, and perform root cause analysis and resolve problems
* Attend various meetings and action/communicate instructions
* Produce written reports and make presentations where required
* Manage, coach and develop a high performing manufacturing team that meets agreed objectives and which delivers best practice results, added value and continuous improvements
* Be a positive, self-motivated individual who can make decisions whilst working cohesively within a team. Drive out and challenge negativity within the workplace, working alongside BU Leader to build and facilitate a community spirit where everybody feels valued and is working towards a clear and well communicated goal
* Liaise with Business Unit Leader to set department objectives/KPIs and review and assess ongoing performance of direct reports
* Report on achievement of targets and identify any actions required to Business Unit Leader
* Manage and lead the team, ensuring adequate staffing levels, managing holiday allowances, recruitment, training, development, appraisal, attendance, disciplinary issues and daily supervision to maximise efficient productivity
* Consistently promote high standards through personal example and roll out through the team so that each member of the team understands the standards and behaviours expected of them
* Hold regular meetings with each of the production shifts to share KPI’s and other valuable information being sure to develop, implement and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) for each area of responsibility
