We’re looking for an experienced and proactive Road Freight Operator with strong groupage experience to join our dynamic team in Basildon. As a Road Freight Operator, you’ll be responsible for managing the full coordination of road freight shipments, with a strong focus on LTL/groupage services. You’ll ensure deliveries are handled efficiently, on time, and with excellent service throughout. Working closely with customers, hauliers, and depots across the UK and Europe, you’ll handle all routing, documentation, and compliance with precision and care.

• Coordinate groupage (LTL) and full load (FTL) shipments across the UK and Europe
• Plan and book transport using subcontractors and in-house fleet where applicable
• Prepare and process all relevant documentation including CMRs, PODs, and customs paperwork
• Monitor and track shipments, providing timely updates to customers
• Ensure compliance with UK and EU transport regulations and internal procedures
• Liaise with internal teams, hauliers, and overseas partners to ensure smooth operations
• Support the Road Freight Manager with day‑to‑day operational tasks

• Minimum 1 year’s experience in UK and European road freight forwarding
• Essential:
  Proven experience handling groupage (LTL) shipments
• Start to finish operations in a road freight position
• Strong knowledge of FTL and groupage procedures, confident in using freight/transport management systems and preparing transport documentation
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Ability to multitask and work well under pressure
• Team player with a proactive, solutions‑driven attitude
