Position: 232271 - Clinical Support Worker - Paediatrics

Overview

The Role As part of a multidisciplinary team, the post holder will carry out care duties for children and young people 0-16 years, in support of a registered nurse, and will regularly work unsupervised. The post holder will carry out assigned duties to maintain hygiene, order and safety within the ward environment. Duties may vary with the type of ward/department and the degree of patient dependency.

What we’ll need you to bring

SVQ III in healthcare, or working towards, or equivalent experience working within a caring environment/role. Ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary/agency team. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to carry out assigned patient care tasks effectively within a busy environment. Ability to work unsupervised. To actively participate in the Personal Development Plan process to fulfil the requirements of continuing professional development.

Working knowledge of basic information technology. Please note for all vacancies where a driving licence is required this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence. It would be great if you also have Undertake on the job training and Health Care Support Workers standard. Current health care support worker experience. Experience in health care support in paediatrics or relevant experience working with children/young people.

Knowledge of personal care and related procedures or previous volunteer or work experience in a health, education or social care environment. Excellent team working skills with ability to work using own initiative. Effective listening, communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent time management skills. Experience/skills In Caring For Children With Complex Needs/autism

Contract type & Location

Contract type:
Permanent, Part Time. 22.69 hours - two posts. Please note this is a part time post and the salary for this position will be pro-rata.

Paediatrics Dept within University Hospital Wishaw. This role will be based in Paediatrics Dept within University Hospital Wishaw.
