Overview

The Maternity Digital Lead or Digital Midwife will be responsible with the senior team for the operational delivery of the Maternity Digital agenda across Maternity Services while maintaining business as usual and working collaboratively with other digital leads within the board and the national Maternity and Neonatal Systems. They will work in collaboration with the senior maternity leadership team, clinical leads and management to design, plan and deliver a digital strategy, facilitating and implement change within Maternity Services including ensuring compliance with appropriate national standards.

The Maternity Digital Lead will be an effective ambassador for the board, be credible and knowledgeable with the confidence and interpersonal skills to work with clinical, managerial and support staff at all levels across maternity services and the wider organisation. The post holder will have expertise in maternity digital programs and processes and have a proactive ‘can do’ approach, be highly motivated and confident in managing challenging and changing workloads.

The post holder will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and will bring a strong customer service approach to their role and be able to facilitate change with the Maternity Services.

This is a new post, which will require a high level of initiative and resourcefulness to develop relationships and introduce systems and processes, including complex data analysis, to take forward the digital transformation.

What

we'll need you to bring
  • Registered Midwife on Part 10 of the NMC Register or Registered Nurse Part 1 of the NMC Register
  • Educated to/working towards/operating at Degree Level
  • Post graduate expertise within speciality / area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safety, effectively and efficiently.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality / area of practice.
  • Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies and procedures associated with the speciality/area of practice ensuring that the level of expertise can be utilised to deliver leadership within speciality / area of practice.
  • Management qualification or equivalent gained through experience and continuous professional development
  • Further education/evidence of Continuous Professional Development in area of speciality including study days/courses/post graduate qualification
  • The post holder will possess excellent team-working/leadership skills and have the ability to motivate others and work using own initiative
  • Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective time management skills
  • Working knowledge of basic information technology
  • Full, valid UK/EU/EEA drivers licence

This role will be based in Maternity Services within University Hospital Wishaw. The working pattern for this role will be confirmed by the hiring manager.
