Overview
This full-time, band 6 physiotherapy post within surgical and critical care at University Hospital Wishaw represents a fantastic opportunity to join a high‑performing, supportive and proactive team. The surgical physiotherapy team covers critical care, general surgery wards and amputee outpatient service, focusing on quality service delivery, patient‑centred interventions and team well‑being.
ResponsibilitiesYou will clinically supervise band 5 physiotherapists and physiotherapy support workers, provide clinical education to physiotherapy students on placement and join the on‑call physiotherapy rota for UHW.
Qualifications and Experience- Registered Physiotherapist with valid HCPC registration
- Educated to/working towards/operating at Degree Level
- Post‑graduate expertise within speciality/area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge to lead safely, effectively and efficiently
- Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality/area of practice
- Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies and procedures associated with the speciality/area of practice ensuring that the level of expertise can be utilized to deliver leadership within the speciality/area of practice
- Leadership skills to enable day‑to‑day management of service delivery
- Evidence of continuing professional development in the area of speciality, including study days, courses or post‑graduate qualifications
- Excellent team‑working and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate others and work using one's own initiative
- Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills
- Effective time‑management skills
- Working knowledge of basic information technology
- A full UK/EU/EEA driving licence (if required for the role)
- Member of CSP
- Membership of relevant special interest groups
- Experience in multidisciplinary working
- Experience in research and audit
- Experience or interest in specialist area as detailed in the role profile for this post
