The Role
Working as part of the Catering team to deliver a range of food and beverages in line with Food Hygiene legislation and NHS Lanarkshire policies and procedures to meet the nutritional needs of patients, staff, and users of NHS Lanarkshire services.
To work alongside and support new staff in the working environment.

Whatwe’ll need you to bring
- Knowledge of catering standards and related procedures.
- Required to undertake on the job training and induction (this will generally take 4‑6 weeks, depending on hours/days worked), to achieve full competency across a range of duties.
- Working knowledge of Health & Safety including participation in risk assessing individual tasks.
- Required to undertake Prevention, Assessment & Management of Violence or Aggression (PaMOVA) training levels 1 and 2, if identified following an appropriate risk assessment.
- Undertake NHS Lanarkshire compulsory training.
- Undertake mandatory Health Care Support Workers (HCSW) standards.
- Undertake and complete NHSS Catering Services Workbook.
- Ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to carry out assigned tasks effectively in a busy environment.
- Required to obtain the Elementary Food Hygiene Certificate.
- Working knowledge of basic information technology.
Please note for all vacancies where a driving licence is required this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.

Please note this is a part‑time post and the salary for this position will be pro‑rata.
Location and Working PatternThis role will be based in the Catering Department within University Hospital Wishaw.
