Assistant Warehouse Coordinator
Alsum Farms & Produce Inc., a grower, packer, and shipper of potatoes & onions located in Friesland, WI, is looking for a full‑time Assistant Warehouse Coordinator. You will perform an array of functions that may include receiving and processing incoming products and materials, assisting with picking and shipping orders, and managing, organizing, and retrieving products in the warehouse.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with procurement and logistics teams to review incoming deliveries.
- Unload trucks, check all deliveries to ensure they match purchase orders.
- Inspect fresh produce for quality.
- Handle necessary paperwork and receive produce inventory into the company ERP.
- Label all fresh produce for traceability.
- Organize and put‑away fresh produce on appropriate racks and shelves.
- Maintain inventory control by recording stock locations.
- Plan for anticipated next‑day shipment by rotating and staging items.
- Work with the Warehouse Supervisor to improve cooler organization and clearly identify stock locations.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
- Operate forklift truck as needed.
- Document all related activities and complete forms and reports.
- Perform the job of Order Picker when assistance is not required.
- Perform other related duties as necessary or assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- At least two years of warehouse work experience required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Basic understanding of or ability to quickly learn company product codes and terminology.
- Thorough knowledge of warehouse policies and procedures.
- Good analytical skills and ability to make sound judgments relative to inventory.
- Proficient with ERP and related software.
- Self‑motivated and able to function as part of a team.
- Ability to obtain Forklift Certification.
- Ability to utilize Human Resource Information System (HRIS) software.
- Ability to sit/stand in one place for extended periods.
- Various repetitive movements.
- Good manual dexterity to perform required duties.
- Exposure to airborne particles or fumes.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds throughout shift.
