POSITION: Sexual Assault Services Project Coordinator

LOCATION: Family and Human Services Building (or TBD)

WAGE: $26-27/Hour, 40 hours/week, Plus Benefits

SUPERVISOR: Domestic Violence Director
THIS IS A REGULAR FULL-TIME NON-EXEMPT POSITION (Grant-Funded through September 30, 2027)

JOB SUMMARY:

The Project Coordinator will lead the establishment and expansion of intervention services for survivors of sexual assault. This role focuses on improving service delivery by conducting internal assessments of current program protocols and resources to ensure they are survivor-centered and culturally responsive. The coordinator will implement clear pathways for victims to navigate medical, criminal justice, and social support systems. A primary focus will be community outreach and the distribution of materials to increase awareness of available services and resources.

The overall mission is to ensure the adequate and effective delivery of intervention and related assistance for survivors, strengthening community trust in the Family Violence Prevention Program.

Examples of Duties

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop and implement comprehensive intervention and assistance plans for survivors of sexual assault to ensure immediate needs are met.
  • Lead outreach activities (e.g., community events, powwows) to increase knowledge of sexual assault services provided by the Tribe and how to access them.
  • Establish and distribute educational materials regarding available survivor resources, crisis intervention, and support mechanisms.
  • Coordinate with local law enforcement and healthcare providers to establish and refine referral pathways and accompaniment procedures for survivors.
  • Provide advocacy and accompaniment information to survivors to help them navigate the criminal justice, medical, and social support systems.
  • Conduct internal assessments to identify service gaps for the purpose of program improvement and service enhancement.
  • Strictly adhere to tribal, state, and federal laws regarding client confidentiality, ensuring all survivor information is handled with the highest level of discretion.
  • Collaborate with community stakeholders to build partnerships that expand the available resources and support mechanisms for survivors.
  • Collect and track service statistics for program evaluation and grant reporting purposes.
  • Participate in community coalitions and task forces to advocate for survivor-centered responses and improved service coordination.
  • Draft and standardize internal program protocols to ensure consistent, culturally specific, and high-quality care for all survivors.
  • Attend required professional development related to trauma-informed care, sexual assault intervention, and cultural responsiveness.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Service Enhancement: Ability to assess internal program performance and develop methods for improving survivor-centered intervention.
  • Documentation & Communication: Ability to read, interpret, understand, and communicate client-support documents, such as safety plans, procedures, regulations, and requirements, including the ability to explain said documents to clients in ways they can understand. Must communicate clearly in both verbal and written formats.
  • Trauma-Informed Care: Awareness of the impact of trauma in individuals and communities.
  • Cultural Competence: Understanding of the history, culture, laws, rules, customs, and traditions of the Red Cliff Band of Lake Superior Chippewa and the needs of families and the community within the program service area.
