DescriptionUnder limited supervision and with readily available technical guidance, the electrician performs daily machine inspections, communicates with operators about maintenance issues, conducts daily preventative maintenance on equipment, reports issues to the maintenance manager, supervisor, or lead, and performs other assigned daily tasks.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Assist in troubleshooting down equipment.
- Perform facility electrical maintenance and wiring.
- Perform PLC programming, installation, and troubleshooting of new equipment.
- Work with the controls engineer on projects.
- Perform general equipment, machinery, and plant maintenance.
- Work well with other employees and maintain a positive attitude; conduct needs assessment, meet quality standards for service, and evaluate customer satisfaction.
- Adhere to all OSHA and company policies and procedures, including authorized LOTO procedures, and report unsafe conditions.
- Communicate with manager and maintenance team to assure operating condition of equipment.
- Perform routine housekeeping activities in the department and shop.
- Perform assigned daily tasks, complete special projects, and other duties as assigned.
All positions are also responsible for:
- Performing all work‑related tasks in compliance with all Federal, State, and local standards and regulations.
- Adhering to company policies, procedures, and directives regarding safety and standards of workplace behavior.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability required.
Education and Experience
Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two‑year college or technical school, and a minimum of 2 years’ experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Other Requirements
- PLC troubleshooting skills.
- Must maintain certification in powered industrial vehicles, including forklift.
- Training in OSHA regulations, including lock‑out/tag‑out required.
- Completion of OSHA 10‑hour course.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability, statistical inference, plane and solid geometry, and trigonometry; apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations; write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals; effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Physical Demands
Physical exertion required to perform occupational tasks; frequent talking; repetitive motion of fingers, hands, wrists, shoulders, and upper body; standing, walking, reaching; occasionally lifting 10–25–50 pounds. Vision requirements and work environment hazards noted as per job specification.
Work Environment
Exposed to wet, humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, outdoor weather, extreme heat, high places, chemicals, extreme cold, vibrations; noise moderate to loud; hearing protection required; personal protective equipment required.
