Cardinal AG designs and builds automation equipment for the glass industry. As a Field Service Engineer, you'll spend time at our facility preparing equipment – setting up and testing systems before installation – then travel to customer sites across the United States to install, service, and support our machinery. You'll troubleshoot issues and collaborate with design engineers to develop effective solutions.
This is a hands‑on, fast‑paced role with a dynamic schedule and frequent travel.
- Build positive relationships with customers.

- Produce timely and detailed service reports.
- Perform equipment set up and testing in‑house.
- Perform breakdown and packaging of equipment for field installation, including fabricating/building supports, padding/protecting equipment, heat‑wrapping, and loading on/off trucks.
- Install, repair, replace, adjust and align equipment and components.
- Test‑run repaired machines to verify adequacy of repairs.
- Install machine software to a variety of control platforms.
- Ensure equipment is set up with the correct IP’s and can connect to the Cardinal network.
- Train maintenance and production personnel on Cardinal AG equipment.
- Test and repair parts returned by customers.
- Examine parts for defects such as breakage or excessive wear.
- Disassemble equipment to remove parts and make repairs.
- Document processes and continuously update documentation with modifications to setup procedures.
- Use PLCs to troubleshoot equipment issues; may make program modifications as necessary.
- Know and comply with safety policies, standards and procedures.

- At least 18 years old.
- Degree in engineering‑related field preferred.
- 2+ years of technical experience with automated equipment preferred.

- Ability to travel and operate a vehicle safely.
- Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge.
