School Security Personnel/Lunchroom Aide

This position is a split between School Security and Lunchroom Aide Position

Reports to: Safety Director/High School Administration

• Previous work experience in safety and security.
• Knowledge of basic methods of providing site security and safety, knowledge of basic safety rules and procedures.
• Ability to exercise good judgment when responding to safety and security violations and emergencies, ability to work with high school students in enforcing safety and security rules and procedures, ability to follow written and oral instruction.
• Good communication, human relations and interpersonal skills.

• To support and assist the Safety Director and High School Administrators in providing a safe and secure environment
• All students, staff and visitors in the high school

• Performs routine safety and security functions to ensure the safety of students and staff and the protection of property.
• Observes school grounds and monitors parking lots to ensure safety of students and staff and prevent trespassing, vandalism and loitering.
• Monitors school entrances to prevent unauthorized entry to building and ensure entrances are secure.
• Assists in enforcing the school rules.
• Maintain security records, logs and reports necessary.
• Assist with school bus supervision after school.
• Patrols hallways and lavatories within the building to ensure safety of students and staff.
• Monitors cafeteria areas during lunch hours to maintain order, discipline, and safety among students.
• Assists in administering the building pass and identification program.
• Assist administration and staff in crisis and emergency situations.
• Assist with safety drills and other building emergency evacuations.
• May assist in the supervision of students on school buses and in the school to maintain discipline and order.
• Maintain logs of all students, staff and visitors that enter facility during school hours when at front entrance.
• Assist visitors with directions and secure proper identification.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the administration or designee.

Performance of this position will be evaluated by the High School Administrators or their designee.
