, a leading global manufacturer of safety wear, workwear and PPE, is currently seeking applications for the position of Technical Sales Manager - Flame Resistant, located in Texas
, to cover the USA. We design, manufacture and distribute market leading workwear, safety wear and PPE fully owned production facilities.
- Drive growth & increase sales of Portwest FR range and IFR range of garments across the USA through your technical expertise and customer‑facing experience.
- Work closely with your Regional Sales Managers to develop a strategy and market plan to maximize opportunities and drive the growth of FR in the USA market.
- Identify opportunities to grow FR adoption at both distributor and end‑user levels.
- Specify Portwest / IFR products within end user technical documents and tender bids. Ensure that we are listed as an approved brand within their HSE and purchasing framework.
- Provide technical expertise & advice to Portwest distributors, prospects, and end‑users and cultivate strong, long‑term business relationships.
- Accompany Portwest distributors on joint sales calls to end‑users to support them through your technical knowledge & expertise in FR.
- Deliver technical FR training to Portwest distributors, prospects, and end‑users both digitally and in‑person.
- Deliver technical FR training to Portwest sales team and support them to increase sales of FR in their area as well as facilitating training for other Portwest employees.
- Identify potential gaps with the Portwest FR and work with the Product Team to help develop and enhance the FR offer.
- Work with Product & Marketing team to advise on sales content creation to help drive the growth of FR.
- 4–7+ years’ experience selling flame resistant products in the US market.
- In‑depth technical knowledge of flame‑resistant products, standards, competitors and market segments.
- In‑depth knowledge of the end users, their technical requirements and decision‑making / purchasing channels.
- Experience of selling to both distributors and end‑users.
- Experience of delivering detailed technical training on FR at distributor and end‑user level.
- Project management skills and experience.
- Strong analytical skills and data‑driven thinking.
- Advanced communication and interpersonal skills.
- Self‑motivated with ability to work on your own.
