Education, Training, Experience and Licenses / Registrations Required

• Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program
• Must successfully pass any pre-employment assessment(s).
• BLS from the American Heart Association (or obtained during orientation) and maintain certification throughout employment
• Current state nursing license or permit to practice nursing in the State of Texas.
• De-escalation training within 90 days of hire; ongoing maintenance as required
• Ongoing compliance with demonstration of clinically pertinent competencies as determined by the facility.

• One year full time or three years part time experience in acute care setting.
• CCRN, TNCC and Cardiovascular certification preferred for specialty units.
• 100% score on medication test with two chances to pass and remediation material available.
• ACLS completion within 3 months after hire or promotion.
• Must pass EKG, Blood Gas Analysis and BKAT exams with a score of 85%; two chances with remediation
• Satisfactory return demonstration of competencies required for critical care specific processes and equipment.
