The Youth Engagement Coordinator will coordinate all aspects of the Youth Engagement Program. This position requires a dynamic, motivated, and compassionate individual who is committed to supporting youth in achieving positive outcomes and promoting community healing. The Youth Engagement Coordinator will work closely with Youth Justice Workers, mentors, community partners, and families to ensure that all program components are effectively implemented and that youth receive the guidance, support, and resources they need.

This Youth Engagement Coordinator role is a unique opportunity to make a significant impact in the lives of youth, their families, and the broader Racine County community by fostering positive change and supporting youth on their path toward stability, growth, and success.Program Coordination:

  • Coordinate all aspects of the Youth Engagement Program, ensuring that services are delivered effectively and in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with Youth Justice Workers to ensure seamless coordination of services for youth and their families.
  • Oversee and support the implementation of the Intensive Mentorship, Community Youth Panels, Summer Youth Employment Program, and Community Building and Engagement initiatives.
Youth and Family Support:
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for program participants, offering guidance, support, and resource referrals.
  • Develop individualized action plans for youth, in collaboration with Youth Justice Workers and families.
  • Provide ongoing support to youth and families throughout their engagement in the program.
Community Partnerships:
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with local community organizations, businesses, and volunteers.
  • Coordinate the recruitment, training, and management of community volunteers for the Community Youth Panels and other program components.
  • Build partnerships to create meaningful job placements and community engagement opportunities for youth.
Event Planning and Community Engagement:
  • Plan, organize, and execute community events that promote violence prevention, peace-building, and youth empowerment.
  • Engage youth and community members in activities that support healing, personal growth, and community development.
Mentorship and Skill Development:
  • Provide mentorship and skill development to youth.
  • Monitor and track the progress of youth participants, ensuring that mentorship and skill-building activities are meeting their needs.
Program Documentation and Reporting:
  • Document services and outcomes.
  • Prepare and submit regular progress reports.

Supervision Received
:

Receives supervision from Youth Justice Coordinator
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Education, Psychology, Criminal Justice, or a related field preferred. A combination of relevant experience and education may also be considered.
  • Two to three (2-3) years of experience working with at-risk youth or in community engagement, social services, or a related field.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with youth, families, and community stakeholders.
  • Experience in program coordination and event planning.
  • Ability to mentor, motivate, and support youth through challenges and personal growth.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Understanding of restorative justice practices and diversion programs is preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and auto insurance.
  • Be on call by cell phone 24/7 unless on vacation or other arrangements have been made with the program supervisor.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, as needed, for community events and program activities.
  • Ability to sit, stand and drive throughout the day.
  • Ability to tolerate environmental conditions such as air conditioning, dust, or odors.
  • Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Knowledge of local resources and services available for youth and families in Racine County is a plus.
  • Must possess visual acuity.
