Key Responsibilities For The Wastewater OperatorThe Wastewater Operator will support customers and the organization in operating industrial wastewater treatment systems. The Wastewater Operator plays a vital role in the day-to-day operations and preventative maintenance of the facility. In addition to job‑related tasks as assigned by management, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Collect wastewater samples for process monitoring and compliance requirements
- Operate equipment, read gauges, meters, and record data
- Perform fundamental basic laboratory work
- Assist with maintenance, repairs, and related tasks as needed
- Effectively utilize the Maintain
X Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for task management - Safely handle chemicals and adjust dosing per supervisor's direction
- Conduct daily walkthroughs of the facility, documentation, completion of checklists, and escalating concerns as needed
- Utilize the SCADA system and make fundamental adjustments
- Participate in On‑Call rotations after hours and on weekends with support from management as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Travel is not anticipated, but may be required periodically.
Requirements- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to respond within 30 minutes when on call
- Valid driver’s license
- Good problem‑solving, communication, and troubleshooting skills
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
- 1+ years of experience in wastewater
- Previous experience in maintaining industrial equipment
- Previous experience operating a skid steer and a forklift
- Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) preferred
- Hands‑on experience with blowers, pumps, motors, and actuated valves, among others
- Ability to obtain Operator Certifications as specified by the local state requirements
